Over 140 people turned out for “An Evening of Fashion with Green House” on Thursday 16th September, in aid of Every Chance Rescue. The sell out evening was the biggest event ever held at Berkhamsted’s fine dining restaurant, The Gatsby.
The event was organised by Gerry Walker, independent fashion consultant for Green House and Silpada Designs based in Kings Langley and Hanne Grice, founder of the award winning Berkhamsted based pet care and behaviour company, Walk the Dog.
The evening showcased the Autumn/Winter ’10 collection from Danish designers Green House and jewellery from American designers Silpada Designs, both wonderful “at home” shopping experiences plus footwear from Terra Nova shoes. The award winning salon Ciente provided the hair and make up for the models.
The crème of Berkhamsted society came out to support Gerry and Hanne, including Eastender’s actress Gill Wright, footballer Theo Walcott’s family and dozens of local business leaders from the Herts, Beds and Bucks area. The evening was rounded off with a thought provoking speech made by Gill Tuxworth, Director of ECR, who was overwhelmed at the support from the night. The evening generated over £2,000 for the non profit organisation. Further donations will continue to fly in as ten per cent of any sales taken from Gerry Walker on her Green House collection will go to ECR.
Hanne Grice, owner of Walk the Dog says, “This event has been a year in the planning. Gerry and I are delighted that dog lovers everywhere have had the chance to see some gorgeous clothes and jewellery, enjoy a fabulous meal while helping to raise the badly needed funds for Every Chance Rescue. This organisation works diligently to save dogs from mistreatment and unnecessary death. Dog listener’s like myself work on a voluntary basis to help rehabilitate these unwanted dogs, helping to turn them around and find them their forever home.”
